IAM 3D HUB participated in the 4th edition of ADDIT 3D (BIEMH, Bilbao), from 04th until 6th of June. In this edition, ADDIT 3D was one of the events included in the holding +Industry. This event combined Industry Tools by Ferroforma, Subcontracting, Addit3D, Fitmaq, Pumps&Valves, Maintenance and BeDigital trade shows.
Around 1,300 firms from 35 countries, more than 100 speakers, and, of course, the more than 19,500 professional visitors, were the main players at this industrial meeting, whose defining characteristic is the synergies between professionals, included in the claim “More exhibitions, a better industry”.
IAM 3D HUB exhibited in the booth Ñ15, pavilion 5, where HP and Renishaw (IAM 3D HUB partners) were also exhibiting their latest technologies related to additive manufacturing and 3D printing.
The HUB was able to establish contact with potential partners and industrial companies interested in additive manufacturing (potential adopters), as well as other entities that could help in the development of this field (universities, research institutions, material suppliers, associations, etc.). It was the perfect opportunity to gauge the pulse of 3D Printing technologies and to discover the latest developments of a huge number of Spanish companies. In this edition, we have also detected more interest in additive manufacturing adoption, especially in (re) design and training services in order to adapt their product and technicians to 3d printing technologies. The HUB aims to support companies in their journey to adoption in additive manufacturing, adapting the service to the maturity level required (from a preliminary analysis of technologies until full industrial scale implementation plans and business models).
The contacts established during the fair are evolving into visits in the HUB facilities in Terrassa, proposals for industrial projects and potential collaborations to broaden our impact in the additive manufacturing ecosystem.
3D Factory Incubator
This edition was the perfect opportunity to present, also, the 3D Factory Incubator initiative. Aintzane Arbide, General Secretary of IAM 3D HUB and Director of 3D Factory Incubator, explained both initiatives in the Speaker’s Corner.
The 3D Factory Incubator, an initiative led by Consorci of Zona Franca of Barcelona and LEITAT Foundation, is the first Incubator as a European level that houses the best initiatives of 3D printing and has the financial backing of FEDER funds through the INCYDE Foundation.
The incubator is located in Consorci of Zona Franca of Barcelona, where its area takes over 600 square meters. The Incubation area includes co-working areas, offices, design area, production and post-processing, training and meeting rooms. It also gives the companies a wide range of services along the value generation process: production, business consulting, commercialization and certification. Its equipped with 4 3D industrial printers using the highest technology, 3 mini-printers and post-processing, design and metrology areas.
The goal of this new high technology incubator is to promote the initiative’s growth linked to the 3D printing by creating a space for the incubation of SME’s and small companies related to these technologies of the 4.0 industry. More than 20 3D printing projects have already moved on to 3D Factory Incubator premises and took profit of their services to develop their business idea.
